Surprise!

On Friday January 15th our girl Khali shared five puppies creating our Magical B litter of three girls and two boys!! All are healthy and strong and Khali is in her element being the most attentive focused mum.

How did we get surprised by this litter?? Well honestly it’s a learning curve and sometimes you only discover the weaknesses in your plan by having them exploited 😳. In an abundance of caution we had removed Khali before she showed any signs of being in heat, and kept them separate well after signs had gone. A wise breeder shared with me her “two door“ rule so we at all times had two barriers between them. Khali is a known escape artist (but she escapes IN rather than out 😂) and being incredibly athletic comes with considerations, namely having six foot fences being child’s play in navigating. Our true exterior fences were built with this in mind and all have interior slopes or flat faces to avoid any purchase holds. But our interior fences and kennels are pretty much “give her 10 minutes...” We are given athletic shows all the time (see below)...

The last video is of a camera on one of our fences between our “hiking” yard and back paddock, and Xander was well and truly behind another door under the 2-door rule 🤗. I won’t be too smug, somehow somewhere we’ve been taken unawares but their sneakiness is in your favour. We do think we have identified such a slim window of opportunity to not be credible but clearly we were wrong (there was no tie and less than a minute) so we will close that loop hole next time!

In the mean time we are just besotted with our new arrivals and have quickly pivoted to puppy raising mode to raise the best most well adjusted happy healthy puppies we can.

We have sent out notices to our approved applicants and pending commitments we will then open any remaining slots. If you haven’t sent an application and are interested please let us know. This won’t preclude you from contacting other breeders or commit you to this or any future litter but assures you a no-commitment spot and first notification for all our puppies. We are reviewing our Summer litter plans since these guys came early so may not have another litter until 2022 at this stage, as we are expecting our own puppy in a few months... more on him/her another time 🤩...
