Running Start Program

Apex Winters Wind is dedicated to helping the Berger Blanc Suisse breed grow by starting with wonderful examples of the breed in both temperament and conformation, through education and transparency, and by listening to our families to find out where we can add more. To that end, we are adding a program called our Running Start opportunity that to maintain quality we only offer to a maximum of four puppies per litter. While puppies normally head home to families at 8 weeks of age, our Running Start participants will stay and undergo further training and exposure to car rides, outings, other dogs, and of course basic commands, crate training and potty training. All our puppies start potty and crate training organically with warm beds in open crates and potty areas progressively further away from bedrooms. Our Running Start program extends these instincts into command based training, much like they would get in their new homes, with more structure around crate and potty times and controlled exposure to situations we expect them to take in their stride, and of course shaping and luring to provide foundation for ongoing training with families. We have a two, three or four week program available to families, and are looking at offering an additional board/train opportunity for litter mates older than 12 weeks.
