FAQs: FAQ

Do you have puppies available now?

We have a brand new litter born March 17 2022! Applications are currently open and for this litter due the circumstances we are donating one pup to a deserving family, we expect a lot of interest so will be designing a special application that will request serious background information and references. We've been very fortunate finding this breed and would like love to spread awareness and information so that others can learn and enjoy also. If you don't see the application here reach out via email if you think you are eligible to apply! For general applications, we still reserve the right to suggest a different breeder or different breed depending on what your situation is or what you are looking for.

What registrations do your dogs hold/will puppies have?

All our dogs are FCPR registered Berger Blanc Suisse, whether they are in our breeding program or not, and we only own Berger Blanc Suisse dogs (we don't offer White UKC Shepherd or White-AKC- German Shepherd pups). We do not currently dual register with UKC as White Shepherds but this may change down track. None of our dogs are or will ever hold AKC registration as the Berger Blanc Suisse is not yet large enough for the AKC to recognize the breed.
Pups will be FCPR registered unless otherwise noted (please ask if you require registration for show/competition purposes, or are looking for breeding rights).

Will I have to apply?

We have a thoughtful application we request you complete. This helps us firstly gauge the level of your interest, and then also keep track of all inquiries, while helping us understand more about what you're looking for and if we recommend a pup from this litter. All inquiries will be followed up with a phone call and we will send you our puppy warranty and agreement for you to consider. Find our application here and here

If you're wondering why we don't have an easy-to-find application it's because we like the idea of you reading through our material to get to know us better, and if you're reading this or decided to apply after finding the app within our FAQs please let us know on the application ;)

Do you ship puppies?

We have recently developed a personal delivery service for those out of state and unable to fly in to collect their puppies. This premium service ensures your 8 week old puppy travels in the cabin with an experienced Berger Blanc Suisse handler and is delivered to the airport of your choice. If you are out of state, please talk to us and we can look at options for the best experience for your pup. Puppies older than 8 weeks must travel in cargo using at minimum a 36" crate. Some families choose to fly in and meet us, then add their pup to the flight home (Alaska will add up to a 40" crate as cargo for an additional $100). We can arrange and prepare a comfortable crate for transportation and all paperwork required to ensure a smooth and safe trip, please ask us at any time during your application process for details and current rates.

Do you offer a health warranty/guarantee?

Yes!
We offer a comprehensive 3-year guarantee against any known/confirmed genetic issue, and a lifetime warranty against bilateral hip and elbow Dysplasia and Degenerative Myelopathy.
We also offer support for the lifetime of your puppy and enjoy keeping in touch and updates :).

Can I see parent breeding and health test results?

Absolutely and glad you asked. While breeding health tests are optional in the US we agree that ensuring healthy puppies is a serious responsibility so our dogs have completed comprehensive DNA testing and both OFA hip/elbows x-rays and Pennhip hip examinations. (Not to brag-I’m totally bragging- Xander received the best Pennhip results our vet had seen in all the dogs she had examined in Seattle over the past five years). We track siblings of our breeding dogs for health results also and are always interested in keeping up with puppies to confirm progressing as planned. Please let us know if we can share any health results with you or help you find them in public domains.

Do you offer puppy training?

Our Running Start program will be officially available for reservation for this litter! In conjunction with qualified trainers Running Start provides basic crate, potty and obedience training that enables families to have a "Running Start" with their puppy :). Please inquire early to ensure a spot if you want to take advantage of this opportunity! Please see our Running Start program page in the main menu or click here to be taken directly.

Do you offer boarding for pups or other dogs?

Our Apex puppy families are welcome to contact us for boarding and holiday opportunities as space permits! We do not offer boarding to non Apex pups.

Do you belong to either the American Berger Blanc Suisse Club (ABBSC) or the White Swiss Shepherd Club of America (WSSCA)?

We currently do not have a governing club for the Berger Blanc Suisse in the US. Both the ABBSC and WSCCA were formed and are run by private groups of individuals with differing ideas of how to advocate for the breed. The FCPR is the only club that is recognized by and works with the FCI for registration and adherence to pedigrees, and we are a registered with the FCPR. We offer transparency with our health testing and breeding program and welcome any and all inquiries, but until there are clear supporting benefits to member breeders I abstain from membership of either club.

While I am 100% supportive of the campaign for AKC breed recognition and fully focused on ethical breeding practices and health testing and registering all dogs within a breeding program, there are complexities within the breed community that require navigating with care. While the processes by which we get to all of those goals are still in formation and while there's strong opinions on all sides (hence the push for different clubs), I remain independent and supportive of all existing and future breeders who are striving to raise quality dogs, educate the community, grow the breed, build bridges and work together.

Our goal is always to adhere to FCI breed standards and requirements and are always looking critically at our own program to ensure we maintain the highest standards of integrity, and we look to the FCPR as the governing body for the FCI with the States.
