Rain Rain Go Away...Or Stay!

After what feels like weeks and weeks of iconic Seattle weather ( I think we've had two full sunny days since these pups were born) thanks to @isleofwhiteshepherds I remembered I had a 'sun visor' on my DSLR (if you're not following her on Insta you totally should, she captures her gorgeous dogs on her island home near Seattle with some stunning pics, absolutely check her out). While lamenting the rain it prompted me to remember you miss 100% of the shots you don't take, and my excuse of raindrops on my lens was easily combated if I repurposed my Australian sun shade SLR visor from way back so with no excuses I got out there and actually had one of the best afternoons with the pups so far...

Wet weather has meant being super vigilant and creative with regard to potty training and keeping pups dry as they hit 6 weeks. No longer tiny creatures of minimal impact they are swift moving land sharks with very little bowel control... Keeping them close and clean but able to exercise their new muscles and minds is a constant 24/7 challenge and while I have no aversion to getting muddy I do like to get clean thereafter!! With our big dogs a dry off and shake is pretty much all it takes but we aren't having to deal with potty issues as well, and being a bit of a hygiene freak means that I've been wearing myself out ensuring we have sanitary conditions despite the mud mud everywhere and not a dry spot anywhere... So this afternoon I embraced the rain and twilight and got soaked enjoying the pups explore the gardens even though coats would not be Insta white and fluffy. I've always been ok with my dogs getting dirty but the land of social media can warp your idea of the perfect pic. Welcome to my non perfect pics but you can be assured we were happier than pigs in mud and it was a welcome break to embrace rather than battle the weather, which I should remember is the reason we have such a gloriously green and lush Pacific Northwest.
